We saw two very important events taking place. The red carpet event at Zouk - OK Magazine's 3rd anniversary, and Ernie's 22nd birthday the very next day. The Zouk event was great, tho exhausting. All my previous worries were indeed quashed. It was a great opportunity to be working for an event of this scale... attended by quite a number of local celebs, as well as internationally known names like Jay Chou and Jet Li. The pressure to deliver was tremendous and hence it was trully a gift of God that things went down well despite the minor hiccups. It was most definitely a pleasure to be working with Absolut.Pitch.
See I got my pretty pretty nails blinged up and all.... XD
Yeap.... immediately after the final paper on Friday, Law 4, was done, I was packing furiously and flying out the door to KLCC with Ernie for the event. Met up with our clients/bosses Gabe and Edmund, and Gabe's lovely wife Zulie, and off we were on a whirlwind trip (in Gabe's words) "around the world", picking up stuff for the event.... from KL to PJ to KL again to Sunway to Subang to KL..... you get the idea. And it was.... 2am when we checked into our room at Dynasty Hotel.
Yep... a whole suite all to ourselves. :P Had a hall/family room as well...
And on the day of the event Gabe had us picked up from Dynasty to Maya Hotel for breakfast.
So cute kan the yoghurt bar...... ^^ *loves yoghurt*
And the amount of condiments for the cereal alone... O.O
Ernie's 15 egg white ommelette XD The breakfast of champions!
The cool interior of Maya Hotel! You can practically see every floor...
Oh yea Maya got kinky rooms XD The only thing separating the bedroom and the bathroom.... is a curtain and a pane of glass XD
Yeap... I was standing in the room taking this while Ernie was in the shower. XD
Waiting for the water-resistant spray to dry before the body paint goes on
Makeup artists Diyana and Veron putting on the base coat.
Oh by the way... Kimmie wasn't there as a talent this time, but as one of the crew. Initially was supposed to be Prince Nuada and perform with Ernie but I couldn't do it due to exams... but I'm honestly glad I didn't as I happened to be the only person with knowledge in special effects and studio makeup on that day. Hence my presence as "mother goose" on the makeup crew. XD lawls....
Lols.... Along watching from the bedroom on the other side of the glass XD
Ernie as Hellboy!
Nope that's not a mask... all that is constructed from his ACTUAL FACE. And... all that makeup, latex, prosthetics and all, was 100% done by yours truly. ;) Did part of Kenneth's makeup as Prince Nuada too, and the heavy duty anchoring of his wig for the fight scene. Yep... when Kimmie says she knows her stuff, she knows her stuff alright. Sadly there was nobody to take pics of me at work... arrrrgh!!!
My finished masterpiece. :D
Those studio stints were all worth it!
At Zouk before the event for final rehearsals
Kenneth and Ernie as Prince Nuada and Hellboy.
Yeap. Check out how realistic the Hellboy makeup looks... *proud* ^^
He's not just Hellboy.... he's my boy! XD
And all too soon.... BANG it was time for the event and everyone was in full throttle.
Kims and Hellboy/Ernie 'backstage'
Suiting up the Hulk
Lester and Sandy as Brendan Frasier (or however you spell that lol) and Michelle Yeoh...
Sorry I'm not very well informed about movie-stuff. x.x
Unfortunately I didn't take many photos of the event... was too busy... but well the event was widely covered by the media, and videos are already on YouTube with (hopefully) more to come so I guess more photos are going to be available soon all ovee the place. ^^ On top of that... we should be recieving a DVD of photos and vids.
And yeap, Hellboy hits Bukit Bintang!!!! :P
Yeah Ernie liked his makeup so much he decided to run about town in it.
Yeap... actually went for dinner with Gabe, Zulie and Ken like that!
Oh and cos it was past midnight... it was also a spontaneous celebration of Ernie's birthday! If I'm not mistaken it was at Carlos at Pavilion...
Stuffed jalapeno peppers!! Oh man this is good stuff... Tastes so much better than it looks...
And dinner.... ;) My lobster thermidor!! Thank you Gabe!! :D
And we plonked back in bed at almost 3am at Dynasty... and were up the next morning to help pack up the vast amount of costumes and props... and Edmund gave us a ride home. WHEW!!! It's been going, going, going from the moment we stepped out of that LRT into KLCC! But well......... for Ernie and Kimmie it doesn't stop there...... :P
For one.... I was incredibly glad that we got home early that Sunday, for it was Ernie's 22nd and Kims had things planned..... ;) He was pretty much kept in the dark, tho I had to reveal some elements to him, e.g I needed him to be free for the night, needed it to be JUST him and me, needed to be at home by 4.30pm etc cos well.... being the popular hunk that he is he WOULD have other plans!! And yeap.... this meant THE WORLD to me cos I have been saving up and planning for a very long time...
So yup... under my "orders"... by 5pm he was dressed up in formal wear waiting in the hall for Ding to pick us up. Well he actually wouldn't have known it would be Ding if he hadn't peeked at my phone. =.= *kicks*
Well Ding being our "driver" was a very essential part of the plan and I so, SO owe him for doing this for me..... Cos without Ding.....

We wouldn't have been able to blindfold, handcuff and restrain a 180-pound bodybuilder in the backseat, would we??? OOoo kinky.... XD
Yep. All immobilized.... :P
OMG you should've seen the reaction of some folks when we rolled up at a petrol station with a guy blindfolded in the backseat!! XD
Baby being annoying trying to guess where we were and which part of the road we were on... and whether we were in KL or if there was a jam etc etc etc....
I think I should have gagged him too. =.=
Tha arrival... Lol... The faces of the doormen were priceless!!
Yeap... undid the chains and got him to walk into the hotel...
At the entrance hall... where we chilled abit and let him get over the wooziness from being blindfolded for so long... He STILL couldn't guess where we were... tho I guess he looked pretty impressed... *crosses fingers* and eventually I had to tell him when I led him to the lobby above...
Shangri-la Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. ;)
The impressive lounge from one floor above
And the concept of big glass panels with a garden just outside it.... simply beautiful. Shangri-la is always, ALWAYS my number one choice for special occasions. Especially this one... :) Furthermore when our 1st anniversary was a very low-key and understated one... this is like a very belated celebration of it in conjuction.
Dinner was at Lemon Garden Cafe. One of the very best buffets in town!
Cheeses (almost 10 different varieties!), cold cuts, salads and other appetizers.
The Italian section.... mm they have some very wonderful risotto...
Indian food area... theres also an area for Chinese food but I didn't get pics of that...
Yes I don't eat sharksfin... but I know my baby enjoys it... and it was his special day so despite our differences, I let him have his way and personally fetched him a bowl....
My prime-rib cut of beef.... fresh from the spit....
And midway through dinner... Kims had another surprise, which this time caught him off-guard!
Remembering that 'little something' we went back twice to look at and lament over the price... and the lady at the shop claimed it was the one and only they had with no chance of restocking I knew I had to do this for him, and went back a few weeks later to snap it up. And that was several months ago. Well he did set the ultimate standard by getting me THE Gunter dumbell....... (you tell me lah who else will buy their gal that!?) And if my boy could do that for me....
Worth EVERY cent to see that smile break out upon his face.... :)
Well back to dinner....
And my favorite, most anticipated section of ANY buffet.... the desserts!!! :P
OHMIGAWD CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!!!! *looooves*
*gasp!* Sugar high!!
I guess we have a record - I have never done anything on this scale of extravagance for any other guy before. I've never done it for anyone at all, for that matter. But what can I say... this one is special. :) On top of that Ernie has been working long and hard for the Zouk event... the amount of commitment and hard work... he most definitely deserved the break and the treat. This is, HANDS DOWN, the greatest satisfaction I have felt from spending an amount of hard-earned cash to date. :)
And that brings a close to our fab weekend.
Happy birthday Ernie.... I love you... now and for many more days to come.
Next stop - PENANG!!!!
