Memorial

This post is dedicated to my bodybuilding brother and fellow member of Probuffedbodies, Brian Kerk, and to the memory of his courageous brother Kerk Zi On, who has passed away a hero, ignoring his own safety to save a drowning woman in Queensland.

According to the article in today's The Sun newspaper, "Kerk Zi On, 25, was swept out by waves moments after he managed to push the woman to safety into the outstretched hands of other swimmers on the rocks of Honeymoon Bay on Moreton Island, off south-east Queensland".

The air and sea search that was launched last Wednesday has been scaled down as hopes of finding him alive are fading, and he is now presumed drowned. I couldn't believe that this is actually the brother of the very same Brian we know when I read it today, despite the unmistakeable remark of "their (the Kerk family's) other son, Brian, who lives in Melbourne", but I had to when Ernie confirmed it was and that Brian had sent him an email regarding this several days back.

I offer my deepest, most heartfelt condolences to the Kerk familyIt is absolutely heartbreaking, when bad things happen to good people. But Zi On will forever be remembered as a hero and for the selfless sacrifice he made. He will live on in the hearts of people who love, cherish and admire him, and will certainly be blessed for this noble, amazing deed.
