Will be tweaking a coupla things on my blog layout over the next few days.... so if things look wonky bear with them. Stupid Haloscan that is supposed to be hosting my comments is shutting down, and now if I want to have a customized comment box I need to pay JS-Kit. Sheesh. So I'm trying to figure out the coding for Blogger's original comment box....... *slaps forehead* Hooooooo boy. So if anybody has anything to say... there's the chatbox up on the left hand corner. And oh please pray I don't delete the wrong thing and end up annihilating the entire layout.

While I'm at it here's a random food post... can't remember when some of these pictures were taken. Just have them lying about here n' there in files so why not put them up here.... Sorry if some pics are low-quality cos I took them with my phone.

This was last night... at Outback Steak House in Bangsar. It's an Australian themed American restaurant. Lol. Decided to drop by for dinner as it was part of Ernie's college assignment to do a market research based on this restaurant. We were anticipating some pretty high prices but surprisingly it was quite okay!

Their cheese fries were simply the bomb!! Smothered in rich Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese and beef bacon. Comes with a generous serving of ranch dressing too! Oooh I love ranch dressing.... hehehe....

My order, which was called Chicken on the Barbie. Lol. Basically it's a serving of grilled chicken breast with rice pilaf, steamed vegetables and barbeque sauce. Not too shabby - the chicken was very tender and well seasoned. My only complain perhaps would be that the portion was on the small size for me. :( Either that or I'm just starting to eat alot more than I usually do.....

Ernie's order... it was called Alice's Spring Chicken or something like that. I thought spring chicken would be an entire young bird but turns out it was chicken breast. And it's covered with a whole lot of cheese, bacon and swiss mushrooms. This was absolutely delicious!! Would definitely have this my next trip... If only they had bigger servings!!!! Ngaaaahh!!! I think I'm too used to eating at places like Williams and Bubba Gump. XD Oh and stuffing my face at the buffet table....

This was taken... some time after I came home from Bahau after CNY. We took a trip to House of Buffet (HOB) in KL. A very new restaurant - opened up just in January this year. This is our second trip there to use up this free lunch voucher we got from our first visit. Lol. Food is pretty good. Their dinner spread has alot more variety - fresh oysters, Japanese, Western, local.... and they are BIG ON THEIR DESSERTS!!!! Lots of varieties.... and they serve Baskin Robbins too!! On top of that staff service is excellent. They even offer to hold your plates and follow you around as you select your food from the buffet!

HOB at night, took this pic during our very first visit. Sorry I don't have any photos of the interior... it's very dark and dim, and all I had was my phone...

At Tony Romas.... after CNY also. Their beef ribs are soooo goooood! Then again, beef ribs are always good...... hehe. :P

Can't remember when this was taken... One of the dishes at Bubba Gump. They have some pretty great salads too and these are what I usually order when I'm watching my diet. Lol. Can't remember the name of this one... but it is served with a very unique raspberry vinegarette which gives it an interesting flavour.

Another fave at Bubba Gump. I think these are called Greenbow Tenders or something like that.... They're chicken strips tossed in cajun sauce and served with ranch dressing.

And hey just cos I like making food posts don't mean I eat like that all the time kay. Lol. Eating out is damn expensive............. =.= And bad for the waistline. Most of the time I'm sitting at home miserably poring over my....

Chicken breast and broccoli. Or I try to.
Oh but lately I've found something I really enjoy eating.....

Soft boiled eggs and spaghetti! Man "Toyol" taught me how to make this and I'm so grateful for it. Muuuuch easier to eat than those stupid pan-fried or hard boiled egg whites! This is about... 6 or 7 whites and 1 whole yolk. Looks and sounds completely disgusting (accorsing to my gym mates lol)... but I find this very palatable compared to everything else.

Okay signing off now. Early day tommorow, ugh. And I shall try my very best to keep away from those pineapple tarts in the hall....

Being so gung-ho and enthusiastic about eating right, making correct food choices, yadda yadda yadda... what's a fat phat girl gonna do in the face of all those sugar cravings??? :( And mind you, I'm a huuuuuuge fan of my desserts and sugary treats.

So we find alternatives! And finally I've found a reliable low-carb protein bar I actually enjoy taking out my munchies on - the UN CarbRite bars. Yes yes... they don't come cheap - almost a whopping RM10 per bar... I've been nagged time and again about this by my friends. But I honestly believe I deserve to spend now that I'm working doubly hard, money is coming in, and I can afford to splash a lil bit more. And yesterday I bought another box!

Anything with marshmallow in it spells LOVE! :D
Okay I know alot of you fellas probably look at a protein bar and go bleaaargh. Understandeable - I've had my fair share of nasty ones too. Most of these things look great but taste real bad. Well... but that's not the case with CarbRite. And believe it or not, these smell like they came right out of a regular bakery! Mmmmm....

So! If you are wondering.... which of these two that I've had taste better....

This is the chocolate brownie one! Has the texture and consistency very reminiscent of a dense fudge brownie if you ask me! Hehe... Don't mind having ice cream with this if I'm feeling naughty... *gets chased and beaten with the Olympic bar* XD

And the S'mores! Hm. Not alot of difference actually just that this one has lighter-coloured filling....

But my verdict? Hehe personally I really like the S'mores one better! It has a lighter, milkier taste where as the former has a stronger, more chocolate-y taste. Ooooh and the S'mores CarbRite bar smells soooooo goooood.

I've tried another flavour called Blueberry Cheesecake too in the past, but that one might be a lil too sweet for most to stomach. I thought that was the best actually... hehe... but maybe that's cos I just had one and didn't have to finish off an entire box myself. If I come across it again I'll make a review. Egonutritions only brought in 3 flavours this time.

Oh by the way.... move over Edge, you got some seeeerious competition. :P

Meet Sam Bond, a.k.a Atlas of UK Gladiators.
Huhuhuhu.... Big, lean, muscular guy. Long hair. Adorable smile. Be still my heart!!! XD

Now wouldn't I loooooove to see these two have a go at each other in the ring.............. :P

Signing off now. It's back to the weight room for me. Glad to say I'm coming back on track fast n' hard after that stretch during CNY where I had no gym access and couldn't train, and felt like my progress backslid. (I hate it when the body does that to you!!) I'm finding my focus, psyching myself up everyday, and hoping that what I'm doing now is on the right track.

Woke up. Legs feel like they've been run over by a monster truck.
Climbed down and up 25 floors of Ernie's condo before breakfast. It was friggin' suicide. Dear God, I love you guys.

p/s: I'm still looking for a training partner to go thru hell n' back with me. Lol.

Hello again everyone! I am back!

I hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays. It has been a very, very long time since I last went back to my parents' hometown, Bahau. Nothing much has changed back there (grandparents were glad to see me tho thanks to my long absence), it's still boring and entertainment-less... but this time round I was absolutely grateful and appreciative of the few days break I had away from work, uni, commitment and all my other worries. Having so much free time suddenly to muck around was a blessing indeed to reorganise my thoughts, take a breather and unwind. And watch a few episodes of Biggest Loser. LOL.

But aaargh. Being away from my workouts has made me very restless. On top of all the bingeing and anticipated New Year goodies...... Oooooh!

How can you resist this!? Chocolate rolls and my favorite kuih bangkit!!! I could sit around eating those all day. And yes I did polish off half the container in the first day.....

Pineapple tarts! Another treat we all look forward to, eh?

Puffed rice + peanut bars. They don't look like much but taste sooooo gooooood.... and considering I've been dieting for some time.......

And of course... the one thing I look forward to EVERY Chinese New Year....

No, not ang pows.... Tho ang pows ARE one of the things I love about CNY....

Gummy candies!!!! XD LOL!!!
Yes I am such a big kid and a big fatty! Eh I swear, I only have these once a year, which is during CNY. And they're my favourite things to eat, okay! And I was obsessing about these even before I went back to Bahau and hoping that there will be loads of these back there. Mom thinks I'm mad. Lol.

Not alot of photos taken... weather was swelteringly hot. Yes it's tradition to dress up in new clothes and stuff on the first day of New Year, but most of us this year just opted for shorts and jeans and t-shirts or whatever that's more comfy to wear around the house. I had a very nice new dress but heck, why get all dolled up when there's nowhere to go, nobody to see, and you're just gonna be cooped up inside in front of the TV!?

Anyhoo. Still in hippy-happy holiday mood. Work starts today, but keeping a positive outlook on it. Starting back with all my clients tommorow morn. And I whacked out my first workout yesterday evening at Muscle Gym. Did they give me hell!! :D Sure missed training with the fellas.

Good luck to me easing back into my routine.
Have a prosperous year ahead, everybody!

Hi again, folks!
Before I forget or get too occupied with something else... here's a big fat

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR
to all my wonderful friends and readers!

I hope everyone will have a great time spending the holidays with loved ones. Those travellig outstation, please drive safe and have a pleasant journey! Take a break, time to chill out and wind down... and have bellies full and happy with all the goodies and treats CNY brings! :D Oh and make sure you take a big serving of new year candy, nian gao and barbeque ham on my behalf!! Tee hee hee.

Oooooh who's up for the ang pow collecting???? :D *big fat grin* Yay new supplements and another stash of blueberry cheesecake protein bars!! (damn that stuff is so delicious you won't believe it's good for you!)

I'm hoping to make the best out of my balik kampung trip this time. It's been a very long time since I've gone back to Bahau due to work and other commitments. And also due to the fact that it's a boring place with no internet and no entertainment and you basically watch the idiot box till your brains bleed outta your ears........... Well but this time I'm gonna try make the best out of it, going jogging and hiking and whatnot instead of moaning and groaning. And I guess it will be a welcome break from the current situation here. I've just been surrounded by so much negativity in the past few days, followed by strings of misfortune.... it's exhausting.

But dear Lord.... 4 days without gym access!?!? Bad food?? Recipe for disaster indeed.

And almost a week without my Ernie! Yes I know it's been awhile since I've given him any mention on here. Things have been good between us. I think I'm confident to say that we have grown stronger as a couple and he has indeed been my pillar of strength in times of need. AND an incredibly patient partner, considering this gal here is quite capable of kicking a substantial amount of shit your way! *sigh* Like every other couple we have our ups and downs and our fights and disagreements, but thru that I believe I have learned to see him for who he is, and love him for just that wholeheartedly. Oh speaking of which V-day falls on the same day as CNY this year! So,

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! :D hehe

Everyone have a good holiday, kay? Lotsa love, take care!

Don't forget to eat your veggies!! XD

Whoo hoo.

Feel like I'm headed for a crash n' burn.
Things with my clients are going great. Work is becoming more manageable (cos I'm easing into and adapting to it?) and uni is so far so good. Modelling - no plans to make a comeback yet but am happy that way for now.

My training is all over the place! Whoosh!! It's so crazy and voilatile these days. Not sure if it's a good thing even tho I come out of it feeling like I've been hit by a truck. Some days I end up splitting my routines and training twice a day! Cardio is reduced (NOT good...) but for some reason my appetite feels like it's gone.....

fwoom.

I eat 12-15 eggs a day now compared to the previous 6-8. AND I'M STILL HUNGRY. Carb cravings are insane. Some days I'm so busy and demotivated to prepare and plan my meals it's just so amazingly easy to make wrong food choices........ *sigh* Can I have a personal chef?? Please please.

I think I need to stop thinking about food in general.

Guess I need to get out there and do my best. Don't stress... just hit out real hard and give it all I've got. Training has to be consistent whatever it is.

Need to BELIEVE that I can be the very best there is to be.

4th February should've been a significant date for me.

I've been working for EF for exactly a year now. I've been with the gym longer than any other trainer there now, since Rosli and Faidzal have left. It was my second home. My refuge and my sanctuary. My place of comfort.

It's nostalgic. How it's grown from a single shoplot to span over 2 floors of 2 shoplots. I've been here 3 years in total. Been here since the very beginning. But in one year of work... I see the side of things I wouldn't have. I have lost faith and respect for certain people. I see discrimination. I see elitism. And in others.... a newfound admiration and comradeship which I never saw before. How one year really opens your eyes to things and changes your perspective huh.

It's one thing to have passion. And another to make your passion your job. That's the irony of it eh. But I will never hate the sport because of the people. And neither will I stereotype or judge others of "the same kind" based on this minority. Don't things you thought you could bank on always have a knack of kicing you down and stomping on you when everything else is already a pain in the tuckus and your life is going down the drain? Well, I will always have feelings of fondness associated to this place. I wouldn't be where I am either I believe if this place had never crossed my path. Today I am a stronger person... not physically, but emotionally. The grass may look greener on the other side... but for now you know I'm gonna stick it. I have responsibilities here.

Be strong. Don't be afraid of dissapointments. People let you down all the time. It's a matter of how you weather thru the tough times. Cos I know that every day I put in, is an investment towards my own future and my own reality. I know I'll come out a champion in my own right. So bring it!
